What a Dubai IV drip menu actually sells you

Across the Dubai clinic menus and booking flows we checked, the first number you meet for IV therapy is almost always the smallest one on the page. A "vitamin boost" or "hydration drip" from AED 350, sometimes AED 290, printed next to a photograph of someone glowing in a robe. The teaser buys you the simplest bag: saline, a little vitamin C, maybe some B-complex, delivered in half an hour. It does not buy you the named protocols the same menu lists further down, the ones with glutathione, high-dose vitamin C, NAD+, or a "Myers' cocktail," which is where the price climbs and the marketing language gets louder.

The gap matters, because IV therapy is the most lightly explained treatment in the Dubai wellness space and one of the easiest to oversell. The drip itself is genuine clinical kit. What surrounds it, the energy claims, the "detox," the anti-ageing framing, frequently is not. So before you book anything off a price page, it helps to know what these treatments do, what they cost once the optional extras are added in, and how to tell a properly run clinic from a pop-up lounge.

What IV therapy covers and who it suits

Intravenous therapy delivers fluids, electrolytes, vitamins, or other compounds straight into a vein, bypassing the gut. That is the entire mechanism, and it is also the only honest claim most drips can make. By going around digestion, an IV puts a known quantity of fluid and water-soluble vitamins into your bloodstream quickly. For someone genuinely dehydrated, run down after illness, or recovering from a long-haul flight in Dubai heat, that can feel restorative in a real, if temporary, way.

Where it gets murkier is the wellness positioning. Plenty of Dubai menus sell IV drips for energy, immunity, "detox," skin brightening, and hangover recovery. Some of that rests on the rehydration and the vitamin top-up doing modest, short-lived work. Much of it rests on marketing. If you already eat reasonably and have no diagnosed deficiency, your kidneys clear most excess water-soluble vitamins within hours, which is the unglamorous reason the effect rarely lasts. Mayo Clinic has noted there is little proven benefit from IV vitamin therapy for healthy people with normal vitamin levels, and points to real risks at high doses.

IV therapy suits a narrow group well: people with a confirmed deficiency or absorption problem, people prescribed IV nutrients by a doctor for a medical reason, and people who simply want supervised rehydration and accept it as a comfort treatment rather than medicine. It suits almost no one as a substitute for sleep, food, or a proper diagnosis. Anyone with kidney or heart conditions should treat any IV as a medical decision, not a menu choice, because the fluid and electrolyte load is not trivial for those bodies.

A nurse in a clinic adjusts the flow regulator on a hanging IV vitamin drip bag
A trained nurse sets the drip rate by hand, since a standard IV infusion is delivered slowly over 30 to 60 minutes to let the body absorb the fluids and nutrients.

The treatments, sorted by what they actually do

Dubai menus list dozens of branded drips, but they fall into a handful of honest categories once you strip the names back.

Hydration and recovery drips are the baseline: saline or a balanced electrolyte solution, sometimes with anti-nausea or anti-inflammatory additions for the hangover and post-event versions. These do the one thing IV does best, which is move fluid and electrolytes in fast. The effect is real and short.

Vitamin and "wellness" cocktails add water-soluble vitamins to that base. The most common is the Myers' cocktail, a mix of B vitamins, vitamin C, magnesium, and calcium that has been used in clinics since the 1960s. High-dose vitamin C drips sit here too. For someone eating normally, the body uses what it needs and excretes the rest, so think of these as a vitamin top-up with a hydration benefit, not a cure for tiredness.

Glutathione and "skin brightening" drips are sold hard in Dubai for a lighter, more even complexion. The evidence for IV glutathione as a reliable skin-lightening treatment is weak, and the US Food and Drug Administration has flagged safety concerns around compounded and injectable glutathione, treating it as an unapproved drug. Treat any clinic promising visible whitening from a drip with real scepticism.

NAD+ infusions are the premium tier, marketed for energy, focus, "cellular repair," and anti-ageing. They are expensive, the infusion itself can be uncomfortable and slow, and the human evidence for the anti-ageing claims is early and thin. This is the category where the gap between price and proof is widest.

Specialist and prescription infusions, such as iron for diagnosed iron-deficiency anaemia or other doctor-ordered IV nutrients, are a different conversation entirely. These are legitimate medical treatments that belong under a doctor's supervision, not on a walk-in wellness menu, and they should follow a blood test and a diagnosis.

A woman reclines in a cushioned lounge chair receiving an IV drip in a warmly lit clinic room
The reclining lounge chair is part of the treatment design, as staying relaxed and still keeps the vein steady for the full duration of the infusion.

What it costs in Dubai in 2026

The teaser price and the real price are rarely the same number. A basic hydration or vitamin drip genuinely starts in the low hundreds, but the named cocktails, the glutathione and NAD+ tiers, and any at-home or hotel-room call-out push the total well past the headline. Mobile drips, where a nurse comes to you, carry a call-out premium on top of the drip itself. The ranges below are indicative of the public Dubai menus and quote patterns we checked across clinics and mobile providers in 2026, not fixed quotes. Always confirm exactly what is in the bag and whether the dose, the consultation, and any blood test are included before you book.

INDICATIVE MARKET ESTIMATE

What IV and wellness drips cost in Dubai in 2026AED
Basic hydration / vitamin dripper session
300–700
Myers' cocktail / wellness blendper session
600–1,200
Glutathione / skin dripper session, often sold as a course
600–1,400
High-dose vitamin C dripper session
700–1,600
NAD+ infusionper session
1,000–3,500+
Mobile / at-home call-out add-onon top of the drip price
200–400

Two things distort the headline. First, the brightening and anti-ageing drips are usually sold as courses of six or ten, so the real outlay is the per-session price multiplied out, not the single figure on the menu. Second, a responsible clinic should include a brief medical screen, and sometimes a blood test, before a higher-dose infusion. If that screening is bundled, the price looks higher but the treatment is safer. If it is skipped to keep the number low, that is a warning, not a saving.

How to choose a clinic safely

The single most important check in Dubai is licensing. Any facility offering IV therapy in Dubai must be a licensed healthcare facility, and the staff inserting the cannula and running the infusion must be licensed healthcare professionals, typically a registered nurse working under medical oversight. You can confirm a facility and a practitioner through the Dubai Health Authority licensing system, or through the Department of Health Abu Dhabi if you are in that emirate. A wellness "lounge" or a mobile drip service that cannot show you a current DHA health facility licence is not a clinic, whatever the interior looks like.

Beyond the licence, a few things separate a careful provider from a glossy one. There should be a real consultation and a screen for relevant conditions before any higher-dose drip, not a tablet and a signature. The person inserting the line should be a nurse or doctor, named and licensed, not a technician. The clinic should be willing to tell you exactly what is in the bag, the dose of each ingredient, and where it was prepared, because under DHA standards an IV must use sterile, pharmacy-prepared solutions handled by licensed staff. And they should set realistic expectations, framing the drip as hydration and a vitamin top-up rather than a fix for ageing, fatigue, or skin tone.

Be most cautious with the claims that sound best. Whitening from a drip, "detox," reversed ageing, and guaranteed energy are the lines that should make you slow down, not book faster. A clinic confident in its medicine does not need to oversell it. If you want a calm starting point, the listings in our Dubai wellness and IV therapy directory show what each provider offers, and you can read more reported guides like this one in the Bellora Journal.

These ranges are indicative market estimates drawn from public Dubai clinic menus, mobile-provider price pages, and enquiry and booking flows we checked across the emirate in 2026, standardised into per-session and add-on bands rather than fixed quotes. Prices move and protocols vary by clinic, so we review these periodically and you should confirm any figure directly. Regulatory and licensing points are sourced to the relevant UAE authorities below.

This guide is informational only and not individual medical advice. Confirm your suitability and any treatment with a DHA-licensed clinic.
